The six friends are in their early thirties, single, and living in Neukölln. Writer Övünç is struggling with writer's block. Pascal, successful in his career, longs to leave his current life behind for something new—though he isn't sure what that is. He recently separated from actress Raha, who continues to wait in vain for the career breakthrough she dreams of. Kara prefers staying with friends rather than sleeping at home. Henner spends the day in a bar, where he meets Anja, who later becomes part of the group.

That evening, the friends celebrate Övünç's birthday, trading the weight of the day for the vibrant energy of Berlin's nightlife. They wander through the streets and bars of Neukölln in search of a reward for everything they have had to endure during the day.
