Martin, an ambitious and career-driven theater director, is staging The Investigation by Peter Weiss. Together with his cast and assistant director, he travels to Auschwitz for research. But while they are confronted with the weight of history, each of them is also pursuing personal agendas. When Goska, a Polish-Jewish trash icon, enters the picture, tensions quickly spiral out of control.
